Short and concise chapters on a variety of topics related to research. Great for review but probably not for initial learning. I use this in my graduate research methods class since all students should've learned this stuff already.
Patten does what he can to keep you from falling asleep. He is clear and straight to the point. He breaks the subject matter into brief and well written topics that are easily comprehended. This book was a text in my research methods class and my instructor could be classified as a humanitarian for minimizing math-formula heavy texts and mandating books like this one.

Great reference for things like APA citations and learning how to properly organize research. Be careful of getting older copy, because citations change and are updated regularly. Still, very handy to have!
