This series is fun and silly, and is perfect for newer readers. There is a moderate amount of repetition that helps with confidence building, and there are illustrations that help in creating the story. A favorite in our house.

All of the Mercy Watson and Tales from Deckawoo Drive from Kate DiCamillo are the PERFECT reading level for my 6 year old. She started reading these when she was 5. Great beginning chapter books! Clean and respectful content, silly stories, good word repetition, opportunities to expand vocabulary and practice intonation...we sit and read together and giggle for hours!

My 8 yr old loves all the Mercy Watson books- easy to read, always an interesting story and Mercy is an easy character for children to love. Highly recommended whether for your child to read or have it read to them, and Chris van Dusen is a fantastic artist

What a great early chapter book series! I'm a pre-school teacher but had never seen these books until my daughter was going into second grade. She loved that they were easy and could read them in one setting, great for airplane rides or long drives. They're very simple to read and have fantastic illustrations. I use them as "chapter" books with my four and five year-olds in class to introduce them to the idea of listening to a book over several class times, they LOVE Mercy and her crazy escapades.

The Mercy Watson series in my opinion is a good introduction to chapter books for little ones. My five year old granddaughter really enjoys them.

We LOVE the Mercy Watson stories, and the pictures are fabulous as well. Early readers aka beginning readers (boys and girls alike) will enjoy this book and series

My parents and I purchased this book for my 6 year old nephew for Christmas and he loved it. I was highly satisfied with my transaction, and would use this seller again, if any books or other products I was looking for became available. I was able to purchase this book for $4.00 ($0.01 for the book and $3.99 shipping) which I was completely shocked, but overjoyed at. Definitely worth the money even if I had to spend a little more to purchase.

we love all the mercy watson books. this one was hilarious and my daughter loved it.
