There wasn’t a whole lot of info about putting together a Dash diet meal plan - or much at all about the Dash diet. Most of the recipes use ingredients with which I am unfamiliar, like garam masala, coconut sugar, very specific (brand name) sauces, cashew cream, coconut aminos. I’ll try some of these recipes, but I’m not sure that my local grocery carries some of these ingredients. I’m glad that this was not an expensive book!
I have cooked 5 of the recipes: four poultry and one beef. A few precautions are in order.1. There is NO index. I have about 15 cookbooks dating back 40 years (thanks, Mom). Every one has an index. Some more helpful than others, but each has an index.2. The editing, if done by a natural English speaker, is very poor. Some examples: A. Page 40, "1. Pour down the oil and start heating it." [Note the period, and unusual wording.] B. Page 40, "Close up the lid" [ Note there is no period, and the unusual wording.] C. Page 42, "1 whole piece of organic chicken" [Probably means 1 entire chicken separated into pieces.] D. Page 42, "1/2 a teaspoon of sea flavored vinegar" [This vinegar is not defined anywhere in the book.] E. Page 42, " 2 tablespoon of ..." [Note the singular, which should be plural; 'tablespoons'.] 3. Nutritional information is present; Calories, Fats, Carbs (a/k/a Carbohydrates) Protein. However, the nutritional information is minimal compared to some other recipe cookbooks on Amazon which breakdown "Fats" into what type and NO sodium information was found for any recipe.4. Some recipes are short with blank space at the bottom of a page, Page 48, 13. Parmesan And Chicken Spaghetti Squash. Other recipes begin at the end of the previous recipe, Page 57, 2. Godly Herbed Shrimp Risotto... and 3. Mighty Garlic Butter Sword fish.Overall, the recipes were good, not delicious, but good. The haphazard editing and poor English became almost a "game." Definitely read through a recipe completely before attempting to cook it! Worth $7.00 - $8.00. Probably worth the frustration of having to overcome the obtuse editing, poor grammar and lack of index.

If they have put this book together as well as they did their spell check and grammar check, well then those who purchase are in for a world of hurt. I have heard so much good about the Dash Diet. My doctor actually turned me onto the Dash Diet in my check up with him a few weeks ago. My wife and I purchased a Instant Pot a little over a year ago. This seemed like it would be the perfect book. I really don't know if I want to even continue reading because of the poor grammar. I think I will request a refund before I even get into it and order a different Dash Diet book.

The recipes are easy to follow and use everyday ingredients. So far everything I have made has been very tasty. I recommend this book. This book over 180 Dash Diet Recipes idea with step by step instruction very helpful to understanding. I am following this recipes book its help with developing my cooking skills. I just purchased this book and started to select a few recipes to try. One of the first ones I selected is on page 120 and titled Omnipotent Organic Chicken Thigh Soup. The ingredients in the recipe list did not agree with the ingredients in the Directions. For example...this is a chicken recipe, but there was no mention of chicken. Instead it called for adding ham, asparagus, ghee etc. I assume the directions belong to a different recipe, so I tried to find a different recipe that may call for those items. I could not fine one. I did peruse many other recipes (not all) and I didn't find any obvious errors. I was hoping the author had a website or FB page so I could just communicate directly and get the correct info. But I have not made that connection. I will keep this book and try out other meals. I will update my review in the future.
